4/14/19 - Statement of Principles and Values

There seems to be much confusion when it comes to certain words. Over time the given assumption of what makes a definition can change in public discourse, usually for the dumber. Four that are perhaps the crux of every internet argument I've ever seen are facts, opinions, principles, and values, at least in how they relate to what people argue about and why. I'm here to clear up some of this confusion, and perhaps more importantly, show you my way, the right way, to use these terms before listing my own principles and values. To understand what I post, you must understand me, and you must understand what assumptions I'm operating under.
Facts are objective truths that cannot be reasonably argued, e.g. "Obama served two terms as president." Yes, you could inhale the volume of dick and hash smoke required to contradict this, but nobody would say that you weren't a batshit insane invalid with custard in your skull. Well maybe some people would... He was elected two terms though, good job guys.
Opinions are positions you hold on relatively small matters, e.g. "I don't like mustard." Opinions are easily invalidated by new information. It's common to form an opinion based off nothing more than hear-say from an acquaintance, a blurb in an article, or being a man-child who can't stand a little spice on their hot-dog. If you ate some actual grey poupon on a kaiser-roll polish hot dog instead of that repulsive, terminally deep-fried Oscar-Schindler Weiner, you may change your opinion about mustard, and about your manhood. There may even be common exceptions to an opinion that you hold.
Principles are opinions that you hold to be true in almost every scenario, if not every. It's not simply some personal conviction either. It's something you believe can apply to anyone around you, e.g. "Men should get married." Most people that hold a principle will readily admit that there are situations where exceptions can be made. The Apostle Paul was never married because he devoted his life to serving Christ. Are you the next Paul? If so, you are an exception to this rule. Still, the principle still stands, and an outlier such as yourself does not change the nature of the principle. Most middle-aged unmarried men are playing pool pocket with one hand and flappy bird with another, hoping that eventually their stale, talentless, walking corpse of a self will one day attract even the most desperate lost-at-sea mail-order-bride from Cambodia. The principle still stands.
Values are the most important principles you believe, to the point where they are always 100% true in every scenario. They are things that, should you possess a spine, you will NEVER budge on. Moreso every man must be willing to state and assert these values aloud, even under resistance. Therefore, I shall do so insofar as they apply to this blog. I will spare you from my many principles on mustard, you ketchup-niggers...
